The financial infrastructure for scaling without surprises.
Peaky is building the brain behind modern finance teams. Our signal-based rolling forecast engine continuously monitors the drivers of your business, detects "assumption drift" in real time, and gives you a Sneaky Peaky into the future to keep your plan aligned with reality.
This isn't faster FP&A. It's a new layer of infrastructure for strategic decisions.
We are looking for our First Engineering Hire. You aren't just filling a seat; you are setting the bar. If you want to ship fast, break a few things (but fix them faster), and see your code used by real companies immediately, keep reading.
The Mission
As the first engineer on the team, you will work directly with the founders to turn vision into shipped code. You aren't just a "dev" — you are an architect, a product thinker, and a problem solver. You will touch everything from the UI components that finance pros interact with to the backend logic that crunches real-time data signals.
I would walk back into the CEO's office, give them the updated number, and we would have the same conversation we had every quarter.
The Stack (Our Toolbox)
We keep it modern, fast, and TypeScript all the way down. On the frontend, we take designs straight from Figma and turn them into crisp, responsive React and Next.js components using TailwindCSS. Our backend runs on Node.js, with DynamoDB handling the heavy lifting and Valkey/Redis making sure everything feels instant. It's all orchestrated via Turborepo and deployed on AWS ECS — solid, scalable, and ready for whatever we throw at it.
The "AI-Native" Twist
We aren't looking for the next Geoffrey Hinton or an ex-DeepMind researcher — we aren't training foundation models from scratch. However, you need to understand how the engine works under the hood. You should have a solid mental model of how LLMs are built and function (think tokens, embeddings, and context windows) rather than treating them like magic black boxes. We are an AI company, and we expect our engineers to code like it's 2026, not 2015. We don't care if you write every line of code by hand. In fact, we prefer you don't.
